For the second straight year, Filipinos witnessed the brilliant colors of India as the Holi Festival was held at the Mall of Asia. A major Hindu festival, the Holi celebrates the Hindu story of Prahlada, a prince dedicated to the worship of Vishnu, and heralds the arrival of spring. The most famous aspect of the festival is the spraying of brightly colored powders, which symbolizes the colors of the season.

During the Holi, Indians also mingle with each other and forget about social codes, which are still prevalent in India. Here, the breaking of the social barriers extend to nationality, with the organizers repeating last year‘s mantra: “Today we are not Indians, we are not Filipinos. We are one!”
