On a weekday afternoon, I took a mandatory birthday leave from work and headed to SM Aura with my family to indulge in a sumptuous feast at NIU by Vikings, a premium buffet that offers an elevated dining experience.
NIU by Vikings is the high-end version of the popular buffet chain, Vikings, which has established itself as a go-to venue for birthdays and other special events in the Philippines. However, NIU offers a different experience altogether. Located on the 6th floor of SM Aura in Taguig, NIU by Vikings provides an upscale atmosphere, featuring a refined and intimate setting. The food selection is also more exclusive, with dishes not readily available at the regular Vikings locations.
At NIU, dishes are divided into nine distinct stations, each showcasing unique international cuisines, ranging from Japanese, Pan-Asian, Western, and Patisserie, among others. The word “NIU” comes from the Old Norse language, meaning “nine,” reflecting the nine culinary stations where guests can indulge in a wide variety of flavors.
Although it offers a luxurious buffet experience, NIU by Vikings remains surprisingly affordable, given the wide selection and high quality of dishes available. Plus, don’t forget – on your birthday, your meal is free!
